Healthy activities: Sports grounds to be constructed soon says DCO

DCO said the project would include jogging tracks. He said the government wanted to promote sports in the city.

“Cricket and football grounds are being set up at a cost of Rs20 million on state land situated behind Rescue 1122 station on Sargodha Road,” DCO Noorul Amin said on Sunday. He was addressing a meeting with MNA Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan. Sports District Officer Chaudhary Tariq Nazir was also present.


The DCO said a plan for the execution of the project would be drawn up soon. He said the project would include jogging tracks. He said the government wanted to promote sports in the city.

He said efforts would be made to ensure all kinds of facilities were available for young athletes. MNA Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan lauded the decision of the district government decision to set up playgrounds and said the government would cooperate with the district administration to promote sports activities.

Later, they visited Nishatabad Bridge, Iqbal Stadium and Bilal Road and checked sanitation conditions there.
