Tragic loss: Two, including police constable, killed in road accidents

In Charsadda, a van rammed into an electricity pole whereas in Mansehra, a pickup collided with a motorcycle.

A police constable was killed and six other people injured in an accident on Charsadda Road on Sunday.


According to the police report, a speeding passenger van collided with an electricity pole on Charsadda Road near Charsadda Sugar Mills. As a result, police constable Pervez Khan died on the spot, while six other passengers, identified as Jan Ali, Behramand, Ahmadullah, Asim, Manan and Sakhawat were severely injured.

Residents present nearby rushed to the site and shifted the injured men to Charsadda hospital.

According to doctors, the critically injured were later referred to Lady Reading Hospital.

Mansehra accident leaves one dead

A man was killed and five others, including two women, were severely injured when a Suzuki pickup rammed into a motorcycle near Dhodial on Sunday.

Police officials quoted eyewitnesses as saying that three friends from Sheikhabad Afghan camp were travelling towards Mansehra city from Shinkiyari on a motorcycle when they collided head on with the Suzuki pickup near Baidadi village. The pickup, after hitting the bike, crashed into a tree, killing the driver instantly.

The three bike riders and two women from the pickup were injured. The deceased was identified as Israr Ahmed of Dhodial village, while the injured were Islamuddin, Naib Gul, Nazeer, Noshi Bibi and Gulnaz.
