Enhancing security: Capital’s cops receive a flurry of orders

The Islamabad Police have been ordered to take steps to tighten security in the capital following twin bomb blasts on Saturday.



Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Ali Nekukara has ordered officials to stay on high alert, conduct snap checks at exit and entry points and increase patrolling. He directed all senior police officers to check vehicles themselves at all police pickets in their areas.

The SSP ordered combing and search operations in slum areas. Directions have also been issued to search forest areas and greenbelts. He directed his subordinates to deploy additional officials at sensitive installations and locations and public places including buildings, markets, squares and signals. He also asked them to launch a crackdown against anti-social elements.

SSP Nekukara has directed that police officials in civvies keep an eye on suspicious elements. He has appealed to everyone to remain extra vigilant and inform the police in case of suspicious activity.
