Students at schools and colleges functioning under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will get a well-deserved summer break from June 7, the Capital Administration and Development Division announced on Thursday.
CADD Joint Educational Adviser Rafique Tahir said the secretary has approved vacations from the first week of June till August 10.
Last year, vacations were announced from June 16 to August 26 and later extended due to Eidul Fitr.
The initial proposal this year was from June 9 to August 18, but it was turned down by CADD Secretary Faridullah Khan.
A CADD official added that it was because preparations for Independence Day functions on August 14 in schools and colleges and for a national ceremony at a function attended by the prime minister or president would be affected.
