Out Of Jail: Bilal Khar granted bail

Son of former Punjab governor Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, faces charges of destruction of public property.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday ordered the release on bail of Bilal Khar, son of former Punjab governor Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, who faces charges of rioting and destruction of public property. ATC judge Sajjad Hussain Sindhar accepted a bail petition moved by Bilal’s counsel and ordered that the former member of the Punjab Assembly should be released on bail after submission of surety bonds worth Rs200,000. Kot Addu police had arrested Bilal last week in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act on charges of rioting, destruction of public property and causing a ruckus in the office of the returning officer during the May general elections last year. He is also facing charges of firing on policemen. The day following his arrest, Bilal was produced in court and transferred to Muzaffargarh District Jail on a judicial remand.
