Unidentified men open fire in Islamabad killing a police constable

ISLAMABAD: Unidentified men opened fire near Faizabad checkpoint in Islamabad, killing a police constable, Express News reported on Tuesday.

The suspects were trying to flee after allegedly murdering a women in Nawaz Sharif Park in Rawalpindi.

The assailants shot at a police constable in Islamabad after he tried to stop them. The constable, identified as Safdar, was shot five times and was injured critically. He was taken a hospital for medical assistant where he succumbed to his injuries.

After the firing, the attackers left their car at the site of the incident and managed to get away.

The Rawalpindi police is carrying out further investigations regarding the murder of the woman.
