SWABI: A suspected suicide bomber was killed in Swabi on Tuesday, Express News reported.

The bomber was trying to cross a police line when he was stopped by the police. The suspected bomber started firing at the security officials, injuring a police constable. On retaliation by the police, the bomber was shot dead.

The body of the bomber has been taken into police custody and further investigations are underway.

Swabi has been one of the volatile areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where a number of attacks by militants have taken place.

In November last year, around a dozen militants had launched an attack at a police checkpoint before dawn. According to the police, the attack was successfully thwarted and four militants were killed in the retaliatory fire by police.
