Center Stage uses the performing arts in efforts to support cultural understanding between American and international communities.
This is the first time Poor Rich Boy will be touring the US together as part of Center Stage.
Center Stage will bring seven ensembles from Morocco, Pakistan and Vietnam to the US for month-long tours from June-December 2014, connecting artists with diverse communities across the country.
Residencies will include performances, workshops, discussions, people-to-people exchanges, and community gatherings.
Poor Rich Boy is not a new name when it comes to underground music in Lahore. The band is known primarily for its frenzy-filled and high energy performances. With lyrics in English, this band has created a niche and exclusive fan following for itself over the span of almost six years.
The band will kick-start its US tour in Washington DC at the Kennedy Centre and follow it up with performances in Rhode Island, North Carolina and New York.

What is 'burgers'? Music is not restricted to language, or accents, or stereotypes of disliked people.
Even burgers are in millions in Pakistan. That is more than the population of many countries in Europe (e.g. Latvia, Lithuania) . Don't underestimate any genre of music!!!!!
Ali, I don't understand why only folk musicians are true representatives of Pakistan...we have a diverse range of people and musicians across the length and breath of our country and everyone should have an equal opportunity to represent Pakistan...and as for accents i'm sure the American's will find everyone's accent foreign and funny be it folk, burger, you, me... so lets give these guys a pat on the back and hope that they do a great job at representing Pakistan at that forum...best wishes guys...make us all proud...!
What's the point of taking burger bands who ape American musicians (albeit with a funny accent) when there are tons of local folk musicians who are giving up their craft due to lack of live performances - they'd be much better ambassadors.
