Meeting With PM: New hiring, new cars needed, says Cheema

PM Nawaz Sharif directs principal secretary to take necessary steps to address the issues facing NHMP.

National Highways and Motorway Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Thursday to inform the premier of problems facing the department. According to a press release, The IG said NHMP is an esteemed organisation but its employees have not been reciprocated with increases in their salaries in line with other police outfits, which has adversely affected morale. He also informed that many patrolling vehicles are past their useful life and need immediate replacement, while new hiring is also necessary due to an ongoing manpower shortage. The prime minister directed the principal secretary to take the necessary steps to address the issues facing NHMP.
