Land fraud: Two arrested by NAB K-P

They are accused of fraudulently issuing, attesting fake land records, illegally allotting plots in Nowshera.

National Accountability Bureau Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) arrested an official working for the Peshawar deputy commissioner (DC) settlement and another suspect on Monday. According to a statement issued from the K-P Information Directorate, Muhammad Azam from the DC’s office and Muhammad Aslam have been accused of fraudulently issuing and attesting fake land records, as well as illegally allotting plots in Risalpur Cantonment, Nowshera. The case was referred by the Peshawar High Court over the misuse of authority. A four kanal plot in cantonment was illegally allotted to Mohammad Aslam with the help of the accused and the military estate office, shared the statement. An FIR has been registered against the accused and an investigation is under way.
