PESHAWAR:

A doctors’ association on Monday asked the provincial government to formulate a comprehensive health policy to provide better health care to the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

During a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Dr Saeedur Rahman said, “The health department is working blindly in the absence of a health policy which is why the health care system of the province is not improving.” Rahman belongs to Malgari Doctoran, an organisation of doctors affiliated with the Awami National Party.

He said some 70,000 employees are associated with the health department at the moment but a majority of them are working without any service structure and other essential facilities.
