Missing facilities : Girls’ school gets new boundary wall

The minister said the wall had been constructed at a cost of Rs460,000.

BAHAWALPUR: “We need an education revolution to overcome the problems we face today,” said Cooperatives Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar on Sunday. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of a boundary wall at Canal Colony Government Girls High School. The minister said the wall had been constructed at a cost of Rs460,000. He said the government had started a number of programmes for the uplift of education sector. He said the government sought to provide free education to all the children of the province. “Every child has a potential to do something great. Talented students need guidance and proper education so that they can harness their potential,” he said. Kishwar Sultana, the headmistress, said the school was set up in 1952 as a primary school. She said in 1972, it was given the status of high school. She said the school had maintained its education standards; every year, students of the school produced 90 to 100 per cent results. Education EDO Ashfaq Gujjar said 651 schools across the district were being given new furniture. He said toilets in more than 50 schools had been upgraded.
