ISLAMABAD:

A large number of students and aspirants showed up at a job fair held at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Friday.

More than 20 national and international companies had set up their stalls to interact with the job-seekers.

China Mobile Chief Executive Officer Dr Fan, who inaugurated the job fair, said that “success only comes from capability. “You as young graduates may have very little or no knowledge of how corporate, commercial or business sectors function but skills make all such considerations irrelevant”.

Dr Fan said that businesses have become most competitive and in such a situation the youth need to polish their skills.

“You need to work when others sit, be persistent when others quit and prepare when others dream, you would be most sought-after for employers.”

NUML Registrar Brigadier (retd) Saeed Akhtar Malik said that the university has equipped the students with all the required skills and knowledge and the job fair was part of the the first push to field them into the practical life.

Head of Management Science Department Nadeem Talib said that the job fair’ has provided a platform to students to interact with leading organisations, seeking quality human resource.

He said that the university was in touch with the industry to bridge the gap between industry and academia. “We also looked forward to having more integrated collaborations for curriculum development as per the needs of the current business trends,” he said.
