The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has threatened to paralyse traffic in the Punjab if the government created any impediments for the participants of the party’s proposed May 11 protest in Islamabad, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry said on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference, Chaudhry said that arrangements had been made to stage a historic protest in Islamabad.
“We have received reports from sources in the police and administration that the government plans to sabotage our protest call and resort to underhand tactics to create hurdles for the PTI workers to keep them from participating in the protest. However, all police officials and other government functionaries who attempt to create hurdles in the protest will be taken to task,” Chaudhry said.
He said that “The Sharif government has failed on all fronts. Rampant poverty, electricity and gas shortages, unemployment and inflation demonstrate that this government is incapable of delivering.” He said that due to energy shortages, exporters in the Faisalabad region alone had suffered a loss of Rs85 billion and around 15 million daily-wage employees had lost their jobs.
He claimed that rigging had taken place on “at least 70 National Assembly seats and PTI candidates who were winners were made to lose in these constituencies.”
The PTI leader expressed concern over the law and order situation. “Street crime has jumped 70 percent in the Punjab compared to the previous year.”

First PTI should justify their Govt good performance in KP, If really they performed, then may ask for rigging, other wise make the life of people difficult is not good for their future.
The Sharif government has failed on all fronts. Rampant poverty, electricity and gas shortages, unemployment and inflation demonstrate that this government is incapable of delivering. <------ The PTI government in KPK has failed on all those fronts too.
@usman: "If anything, these protests should have come earlier"
There you said it how illogical these protests are. After 1 year when the Government is functional (however poor it may be). Legally what can you possibly do now? Not much. This is all very childish.
"They have to think about Pakistan and Pakistan is suffering"
Then do something in KPK first! Will you? At least try implement some of the changes that were promised in 90 days, in 2 X 365 days?
If your IK bubble hasn't burst now then it never will. We have another blind league of IK followers along the same line as PM/Nawaz followers who just like to follow their crowd without actually looking at their's idol failures/hallow promises.
Really Ahmed? Can you not see those massive rigging proofs? Should these culprits be not held accountable? KP government is doing its bit in KP. There is more to PTI that just the KP government. There is more responsibility for the party than just the KP government. They have to think about Pakistan and Pakistan is suffering. And you mentioned, "NOT anywhere else". Seriously? Those 35 punctures story? NA 118 where 90000 out of 170000 votes were plain bogus. I repeat, 90000 out of 170000. NA 256 result we all know. Are you still not convinced that 2013 election were the most rigged in the history of Pakistan? One year has passed and no progress on any of the complaints whatsoever.
If anything, these protests should have come earlier. and you talk about public life difficult? One day, that too a Sunday, evening, one city and you consider it making life difficult? Electricity Load shedding has worsened. Gas load shedding has gone to a terrible situation. We are almost in Mid May and we have this gas issue. Never had this before. Inflation at an all time high. Gharib tau mur gaya hae bhai and you talk about life being difficult.
Thank God for IK and PTI warna this country is just about becoming a hopeless situation
Poor statement ... nuisance for general public ...
Imran Khan and PTI just grow up! i regret voting for PTI so much that not voting at all was better than voting for this bacha party. PMLN is silently doing what they were asked to do so. PTI govt failed miserably in KPK and wants to regain Punjab. Election 2018 will see this PTI destroyed into pieces like PPP and ANP if they dont change their policies
The Government should focus more on the loadshedding.
Make public life difficult as well now! Please concentrate on KPK where your services are needed and were requested for by the people there. NOT anywhere else, accept it and move on and
Please stop these childish/tantrums pranks.
