Motives unknown: Man arrested for threatening MPA
The caller had threatened to kill MPA along with family.
HARIPUR:
The police claim to have arrested a man allegedly involved in making threatening calls to former provincial minister Yousaf Ayub Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA and Chairman District Development Advisory Committee Faisal Zaman Khan. ASP Headquarters Abdul Wahid quoted Yousaf Ayub Khan and Faisal Zaman saying they have been constantly receiving calls from a mobile phone and the caller has threatened to kill both of them along with their families. However, the caller never made any demands and did not disclose the reason for the threats, the ASP said. The police started investigating and traced the location of the caller. During a midnight raid, they arrested Obaid Shah, son of Sarwar Shah of Sirikot, Haripur. A criminal case under Section 5 and 6 of the Anti-Terrorism Act was registered against the accused and he is in custody of the police on a two-day physical remand.
