Amer Ahmed case: FIA rounds up key abettor

FIA officials produced the accused before the magisterial court and sought his physical remand.

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in its ongoing investigation in the ex-Ohio Comptroller saga on Tuesday has unearthed a huge network of preparation of fake documents and in this regard arrested a key member Tajamul Zaidi who assisted Amer Ahmed in preparing a forged  birth certificate, The Express Tribune has learnt. Ahmed is a former Ohio deputy treasurer and US fugitive, accused of travelling to Pakistan on fake documents and fake national identity card of Pakistan. Meanwhile, a judicial magistrate on Tuesday extended Amer Ahmed’s physical remand by two days. The FIA officials produced the accused before the magisterial court and sought his physical remand. The court granted a two-day physical remand of the accused, directing the FIA to present him before the court by May 8 along with investigation till that date.
