KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Governing Body (GB) will meet in Lahore today with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) recommendations and measures of the team’s improvement high on its agenda.

The body, which last met in July, will be assembling for the first time after the ICC asked the PCB to implement changes within the organisation and setup following the spot-fixing allegations.

“The main agenda of the meeting will be the steps that were taken following the ICC’s instructions,” said the PCB spokesperson Nadeem Sarwar. “The input on the integrity committee is also expected from the GB members.” Following the ICC guidelines, the PCB formed an integrity committee which was handed the job of ensuring an improved running of cricket matters in Pakistan.

Batting coach expected

A PCB official confirmed that the appointment of a batting coach for the Pakistan team will also form part of discussion in the meeting.

“The board will seek the approval of the GB members for the appointment of a batting coach and a decision on that is expected,” said the official before adding that the names of former batting greats including Zaheer Abbas and Javed Miandad - besides a few foreign coaches - were under consideration for post.
