RAWALPINDI:

Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench on Tuesday issued notices to Punjab’s health secretary and other respondents on a petition filed by Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) senior registrar alleging that his junior was given promotion superseding him in violation of rules.

Justice Mamoonur Rashid Sheikh of the LHC bench directed the provincial health secretary and RMC principal to submit their replies in two weeks by April 21 in response to the petition filed by RMC Senior Registrar Dr Tanvir.

The petitioner through his counsels Syed Kazim Hussain Kazmi and Chaudhry Tajamul Murad informed the court that he has been working as senior registrar and was eligible for the post of Assistant Professor of Medicines in the college as per his qualification, experience and seniority.

However, the Punjab government and principal of the college appointed a junior doctor on the post.
