Driving hazard: Unexpected dust storm engulfs city

North and north-easterly winds as fast as 35 miles per hour were blowing in the city.

KARACHI: Dust storm engulfed the city as well as several other parts of the province on Sunday evening, making it difficult for motorcyclists to drive. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, dusty winds were expected to blow in some parts of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Larkana, except for Karachi where the spokesperson termed the sandstorm ‘unexpected’. North and north-easterly winds as fast as 35 miles per hour were blowing in the city.
