Regional office: ICAP head, AJK premier discuss local chapter

The head of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has sought support from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government to establish an office in the region.
A delegation led by ICAP President Naeem Akhtar called on the AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed at his office in Islamabad, said a press release issued on Sunday.
Sheikh apprised the prime minister of the institute’s endeavor to make chartered accountancy more accessible to the AJK students.
Sheikh said ICAP, being a non-profit organisation, needed the AJK government’s support to set up its office in the state. The AJK government was also requested to support the institute in its talent hunt programme by bearing education expenses of talented, deserving students. Majeed assured the delegation of full cooperation and directed his staff to extend support to ICAP in its efforts to expand its outreach to the region.
