PESHAWAR: Two members of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) cabinet were sacked on Thursday amid accusations from disgruntled lawmakers who claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had resorted to favouritism. Minister for Industries Shaukat Yousafzai and Adviser to the Chief Minister Yasin Khalil were dismissed over corruption allegations. “We had received several complaints against both members and the decision was taken by the party chief in light of the complaints,” said an official at the Chief Minister House. Earlier, a ‘pressure group’ of 14 provincial lawmakers had been demanding the removal of corrupt elements from the cabinet, along with an end to what they maintained was constant interference from the party’s central leadership in provincial matters.
