Economic cooperation: Integration necessary for trade, says ICCI president

President ICCI stressed the need for bringing other sectors under the tax net despite increasing the tax ratio.

President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Shaban Khalid said economic integration is important to foster cordial relation with all regional countries for strengthening mutual trade and investment opportunities in the region.


He said the bilateral trade and economic relations with Afghanistan would help the country’s access energy-rich Central Asian States which would help in resolving the country’s energy problems.

President ICCI stressed the need for bringing other sectors under the tax net despite increasing the tax ratio over the already taxpaying sectors for generating more revenues for infrastructure development in the country. Khalid added that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has delivered all the commitments that he made for boosting economy such as improving the rupee value, auction of 3-G and 4-G spectrum, issuance of Eurobond and getting the GSP Plus status.
