Forced entry: Girl injured in acid attack

Doctors at the emergency ward of Benazir Bhutto Hospital said Shagufta sustained burns injuries on lips and neck.

A 10-year old girl bore the brunt of a family enmity when a masked person entered her home and threw acid on her face. Shagufta has been living with her aunt Kaneeza Bibi in a rented home at Gul Bahar Colony Rawalpindi. Reportedly, there is another family of Naseem Bibi also living in the house.


Nasim Bibi family has enmity with Irfan and her mother Nazia, who live nearby. Irfan would threaten Nasim Bibi that he would throw acid at her daughter’s face. “Today Shagufta was asleep in the morning when the suspect entered and mistook her for Nimra,” said Kaneez Fatima, adding that she has no enmity with anyone. Doctors at the emergency ward of Benazir Bhutto Hospital said Shagufta sustained severe burn injuries on her lips and neck, however, she is not in critical condition.
