Road accident: Bus turns upside down, injures 27 passengers

The people travelling in the buses belonged to the Kutchi Maheshwari caste of the Hindu community.

A road accident on Badin-Golarchi Road in Tarai Town on Wednesday left 27 Hindus injured, including two who are in critical condition.


The bus, carrying 41 passengers from Lyari, Karachi, turned upside down after its tyre burst.


The bus, along with four other buses from Lyari, was heading to Tarai Town for an annual three-day festival at the shrine of Mati Dhadkan.


The people travelling in the buses belonged to the Kutchi Maheshwari caste of the Hindu community.


The injured, who include nine women and seven children, were taken to Civil Hospital, Badin. Two of them were referred to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Badin, while 11 others were taken by their families to Karachi for treatment.
