Seminary teacher gunned down in Charsadda

Qari Muhammad Fazil was killed on the spot.

CHARSADDA: A seminary teacher and a Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) leader from Bajaur was gunned down by unidentified men at Saeed Khan Bagh in Charsadda on Wednesday evening.

ASI Iftikhar khan of the Charsadda city police station confirmed that Qari Muhammad Fazil and Qari Muhammad Sabir had travelled from Islamabad to Saeed Khan Bagh  in their car. When they exited their vehicle at around 8.30 pm, they were attacked by unidentified armed men.

As a result of the attack, Qari Fazil died on the spot while Qari Sabir was injured. They were shifted to DHQ hospital where doctors advised Qari Sabir should be shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital for further treatment.

The police added that both victims hailed from Bajaur agency and were JUI-F Bajaur leaders.
