The 5th Youm-e-Shuhada (Day of Martyrs) is being observed in Pakistan on Wednesday to commemorate those who have given their lives for the country.
In remembrance and appreciation for those who have passed away in their valiant efforts towards curbing terrorism, the hashtag #MartyredPakHeroes has been the top trending topic in Pakistan for most of the day.
Here are a few tweets honouring the sacrifice of the armed forces:

Remembering the non-military heroes too
While there was overwhelming sentiment towards the armed forces, many also remembered the sacrifices rendered by other segments of Pakistan's law enforcing agencies and members of the public.

Salute to the Shuhadaa who gave everything to the cause of nation's protection.
Many gave some, some gave all...
May God bless all of our men and women in uniform and the countless civilians who gave up their lives.
As Pakistan celebrates the “Day of Martyrs” Youm-e-Shuhada, we pay tribute to brave soldiers and officers who laid their lives to defend their country and its people. No one can deny the sacrifices made by Pakistanis in the war against terror. Our Secretary of State John Kerry had said earlier this year, “We - Pakistan and the United States - have enormous mutual interests. We are both striving to combat extremism, terrorism, deal with the challenge of global energy, as well as to provide for the prosperity of our people and deal with security.”
Today a day dedicated to the martyrs, we stand with the security forces and people of Pakistan as they tackle a vicious enemy in pursue of peace.

Salute! I may not agree with the past policies of your leaders, but I am in utter gratitude of your sacrifices. If it wasn't for you, we would have a 10x more terrorist attacks every week and would have probably been invaded! Don't let the negativity of ungrateful fools get to you!!! SALUTE!!!
