Rs 1.67 B Profit: PM lauds PIA management

The airline attained operating profit for the first quarter Jan 1- March 31, 2014 after a period of four years.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has lauded efforts of PIA management for attaining operating profit of Rs 1.67 billion for the first quarter.

He also praised efforts put in by Shujaat Azeem, the special assistant to PM on aviation and Chairman PIA for the revival of the airline.

The operating profit is from Jan 1- March 31, 2014 as against a loss of Rs 5.65 billion of corresponding period of last year. The airline has attained operating profit for the first quarter Jan 1- March 31, 2014 after a period of four years.
