Three customers were injured and a house was burgled in the Naseerabad area of Rawalpindi on Tuesday.


In the first incident, a gang of armed robbers broke into a shop on late Monday around 11:15pm and looted cash, mobile phones and valuables from the people present in the shop after holding them and the shopkeeper hostage. The masked robbers fled on two motorcycles, opening fire when a woman customer put up resistance.


As a result of the firing, 25-year-old Shama, 10-year-old Maryam and the shopkeeper who is yet to identified sustained bullet injuries. They were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.


Meanwhile, Muhammad Kamran lodged a report with the police that thieves had stolen Rs335,000, jewellery and valuables from his house in Madina Colony. He had gone to his relative’s house when the incident happened.


Moreover, a police party raided a place near the Graveyard Chowk and arrested Abid Ali, Nasir Mehmood and Shaukat along with two 30-bore pistols and seven bullets. They were allegedly planning a robbery, the police said.
