Controversial law: SHC bars govt from affecting PCS officers’ seniority

14 officers from provincial civil service cadre, currently serving in grades BPS-19, BPS-20, had filed petition.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered on Monday that the seniority of 14 officers will not be affected in pursuance of the recently promulgated and amended civil servants act.

Headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, the bench, also issued notices to the provincial advocate-general to file comments on the legality of recent amendments made to the Sindh Civil Servants (Regularisation of Adhoc Appointment) (Amendment) Act 2014.


Fourteen officers from the provincial civil service cadre, who are currently serving in grades BPS-19 and BPS-20, had challenged the law.
