Over ‘personal’ reasons: Deputy attorney general resigns

Citing personal reasons, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Farooq Shah tendered his resignation on Saturday over his inability to continue at the Peshawar High Court (PHC). Shah submitted his resignation to the Federal Ministry of Law and Justice and the attorney general of Pakistan. Affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party, Shah was appointed as DAG on July 31, 2012 at the PHC to represent the federal government. DAG Manzoor Khan Khalil and Kifayatullah Khan were appointed soon after the PML-N government came into power and are representing the federation in several high court cases in the province at present. On Wednesday, provincial law officer additional advocate general Naveed Akhtar also resigned from his post, citing personal reasons.
