Hot on the heels of winning her first Oscar, along with being crowned People Magazine’s most beautiful person of 2014, Lupita Nyong’o is now headed to the jungle. The 12 Years a Slave star, along with actor Scarlett Johansson, is in talks to join the cast of Disney’s new adaptation of The Jungle Book.
Both the actors are in negotiations to join Idris Elba in the adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic, which will be directed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, reports contactmusic.com. This will not be the first time Favreau will be working with Johansson, as they worked together on Iron Man 2.

Nyong’o is close to closing a deal to play Rakcha, a wolf mother who adopts the film’s protagonist, Mowgli. There is no news on who will be paying the protagonist as yet, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Johansson, who is pregnant with her first child with fiancé Romain Dauriac and is currently filming The Avengers: Age of Ultron, is expected to give voiceover for Kaa, a python who eats her rival animals by hypnotising them. Kaa is one of the film’s main villains, along with Sher Khan, a man-eating tiger voiced by Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom star Idris Elba.
The Jungle Book script comes from Justin Marks, whose previous credits include Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
