FAISALABAD: A University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) student is scheduled to deliver a speech on women’s rights at the next session of the United Nations General Assembly. Rabia Faridi would be the second Pakistani woman student addressing the UN General Assembly. Malala Yousufzai had addressed the assembly last year. Faridi, an MSc (plant breeding and genetics) student, is a member of the UAF’s debating club. A couple of weeks ago, she had delivered a speech on women education at the Convention Centre in Islamabad where UN Special Envoy for Global Education and former British prime minster Gordon Brown was the chief guest.
