Selling drugs: Around 720 shops sealed

All shops selling hashish, opium and heroin were raided and sealed by the political administration.

JAMRUD: More than 720 shops were sealed by the political administration of Jamrud, Khyber Agency in a crackdown against drug dealers on Wednesday. Jamrud Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Roshan Mehsud, who was leading the operation, said they started the crackdown around 7am. All shops selling hashish, opium and heroin were raided and sealed by the political administration and khasadar officials. The APA said the operation was carried out to catch gangs involved in smuggling drugs into the tehsil and settled districts. He said most of the hashish shops were found in Wazir Dhand near Peshawar, and all traders were told to inform the administration before opening a shop or their businesses would be shut down.
