Ambush on police convoy in Peshawar leaves 6 dead, 4 injured
ASI among 5 police officers killed in the attack.

A police van was targeted in Badhaber area of Peshawar on Monday evening, in which six men including five policemen were killed, and four people, including two civilians, were injured, Express News reported.
Express News correspondent Jehangir Shahzad said that a police car and an escort van were on routine patrol in Badhaber when they came under attack from armed assailants. The officers in the escort vehicle fired back, forcing the attackers to retreat.
Observing the retreat of their attackers, officials called for support to evacuate the injured.
When the injured were being shifted to the hospital, the attackers, who had earlier retreated, fired at the ambulance from a position further down the road.
The incident left an ASI among five police officers dead. One civilian was also killed. Two other civilians, who were passing through the area in another car, sustained injuries in the cross fire.
Shahzad added that following the attacks a heavy contingent of police, including armoured personnel carriers, had reached the scene.
It was not immediately clear who had mounted the armed attack on the officials.
