Killing spree: Man dies in firing near university
The suspects managed, however, to escape.
KHAIRPUR:
A man was killed and three others were injured in a shooting near Shah Abdul Latif University on Monday. Five unidentified men opened fire on a car within the limits of the Shah Abdul Latif police station. Ghulam Sarwar Mangrio of Mehrabpur died on the spot while three other men who were with him in the car, Naeem Ahmed, Manzoor and Ghulam Shabir, were injured and taken to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. The suspects managed, however, to escape. Separately, Ghulam Shabir Lashari, who was riding a motorcycle near National Highway was killed after he was accidentally hit by a speeding coach near Akri Chowk on Monday. The Faiz Gunj police impounded the van and arrested the driver, Walliullah Khan. Lashari's body was handed over to his relatives after the medico-legal formalities were completed.
