ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) marked Easter by honouring its Christian employees and praising their role in helping the department in effective policing. “We are with you on this occasion and your duties in the capital force are acknowledged,” Acting Senior Superintendent of ITP Asmatullah Junejo said while addressing the Christian community at a ceremony held at ITP headquarters. Junejo said the role of religious minorities in the development of the country should be acknowledged. He said there is a need to promote interfaith harmony and end discrimination on the basis of religion. He said the contributions of Christians and people from other religious minority groups are helping the force become a role model for other law-enforcement agencies. The acting SSP also distributed cash rewards and commendation certificates among Christian ITP employees.
