Gas pipeline blown up in Sibi
Separately, a man dies in a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti.
QUETTA:
A four-inch diameter gas pipeline was blown up in Sibi, about 145 southeast of Quetta, on Saturday morning, suspending gas supply to Khajak Town which is the second largest village in the district.
According to Naseer Tareen, Naib Tehsildar Balochistan Levies in Sibi, unidentified people planted explosive material near the gas pipeline and detonated it via remote.
Levies personnel along with security forces reached the site of the explosion and cordoned off the area. No one claimed responsibility for the attack till filing of this report.
“The supply was restored after it was suspended from 5:30am to 2pm,” an official of Sui Southern Gas Company.
Landmine explosion in Dera Bugti
A passer-by died after he stepped on a landmine planted by unidentified people in Pelough area of Bugti Tribal Territory on Saturday.
“He sustained splinter wounds and died at the state-run hospital,” a local official said. The victim was identified as Shah Mor Bugti.
