Firing incident: ASI shot dead in Quetta, son sustains injuries

ASI targeted near his home in Killi Ahmed Khan Zai, attackers manage to flee after incident.

QUETTA: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the police was shot dead and his son sustained injuries in the Saryab area of Quetta Saturday morning.

“ASI Qudratullah was in his car along with his son when unidentified men opened fire at him, killing him instantly. His eight-year- old son Mujeeb sustained bullet wounds,” Asmatullah, a police official at Saryab Police station told the Express Tribune.

The ASI was targeted near his home in Killi Ahmed Khan Zai. The victims were shifted to Provincial Sandeman Hospital from where the injured son was referred to the Combined Military Hospital as he was in critical condition.

The attackers managed to flee after the incident. The motive behind the killing was not known till filing of this report.
