Illegal hiring in Balochistan: Govt sacks 50 health dept employees

CM Dr Abdul Malik Baloch had ordered inquiry into over 800 illegal employments in Health and Education Departments.

QUETTA: Around 50 employees—including a grade 18 officer - of Health Department Balochistan have been sacked by the provincial government after an official committee found the recruitments illegal. Balochistan government has sacked 33 employees from Shaheed Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital Mastung and 17 from Bolan Medical Complex Teaching Hospital Quetta, the largest state-run hospital in the province on the findings of the committee. The employees recruited were from grade one to 18. “Even the position of grade 17 and 18 were made without following the legal procedure. Retired employees were recruited in Health Department,” Provincial Health Minister, Rehmat Saleh Baloch told The Express Tribune. Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch had ordered the inquiry into more than 800 illegal employments in the Health and Education Departments. “All the recruitments were made during the last government and most of the officers and employees had submitted fake degrees,” official said.
