Knife attack: Police obtain suspect’s cell phone data
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Mian Maqbol says killer had reportedly planned to flee to Saudi Arabia.
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi police have decided to increase the size of the investigation team tasked with locating the man who slit the throats of three children — killing two of them — and dumping their bodies in the Murree area. In addition, the passport number of the accused, Nadeem, has been provided to the Federal Investigation Agency to keep him from fleeing abroad. Talking to The Express Tribune, Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Mian Maqbol said they had found the killer’s CNIC. He said the killer had reportedly planned to flee to Saudi Arabia. He said he is sure the killer is still in the country and that teams will go to Abbottabad rather to avoid inconveniencing the victims’ family. The SSP said the police also obtained the suspect’s cell phone data and the most dialed numbers were in Karachi, and that he had changed his number twice before committing the crime.
