According to police, the eagle squad of the police deputed at Shakarparian received a call that some people were fighting near the I-8 chowk. When the police squad reached the spot and tried to separate the two fighting men, they pushed and thrashed the police constables with the help of around 14 more people.
One of the two men introduced himself as an official of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) which was later proven wrong. The other said he was a journalist but failed to give the name of his organisation.
Upon investigation, police found that the person who introduced himself as the ISI official was in fact an employee of FWO. He had called in extra help from his office. Some 14-15 people including an army subedar reached the site, thrashed the police and freed their colleague.
Police said both ISI and Military Intelligence denied that the two were their employees. The Aabpara police said the names of the two people who were fighting could not be ascertained.
No FIR of the incident was registered till the filing of this report. The police said they were investigating the matter further since different government departments were involved.
