MARDAN: A senior lawyer was gunned down by armed motorcyclists when he was on his way home on Tuesday afternoon. An official of the City police said Qasim Khan, a resident of Janabad, was en route from the Mardan Judicial Complex to his home in a rickshaw when unidentified men shot him as he was getting out of the vehicle near his house. Khan died on the spot and his body was later taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy. The official said they lodged an FIR against unidentified killers on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, adding the slain lawyer’s son had also been killed under similar circumstances a few years ago. Mardan District Bar Association President Haidar Ali, flanked by a high number of lawyers, condemned the killing of their colleague while talking to journalists at the hospital. He demanded the police and other authorities to arrest his killers without any delay.
