Maintenance plans : Director promises to improve services

The municipal services department was the most important section of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, says Rasool.

KARACHI: Municipal services department’s senior director Ghulam Rasool visited the city wardens headquarters and inspected the conditions of the mechanical sweepers and dewatering pumps. He directed officers to ensure maintenance of the machinery and vehicles so they are all set for the next monsoon season. He also instructed the officers to get the stormwater drains cleaned and to maintain a record of the transfer of garbage to landfill sites on a daily basis. Rasool said the municipal services department was the most important section of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and therefore all possible measures would be taken to make it more effective and functional.
