The candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Syed Sardar Hussain was declared successful by getting 1,779 votes on Sunday after re-polling on seven polling stations of PK-90, Chitral, according to unofficial results.

In the general election of May 2013, the result was in favour of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) candidate Ghulam Muhammad. Later his opponent Hussain of PPP filed a petition in the election tribunal against rigging in seven polling stations including Mastooj, Zaizdi, Charoon Aveer, Avi Lasht, Baroom Aveer, Boni and Sorich in PK-90.

The election tribunal had ordered re-polling on December 12 last year. The re-polling was held on these polling stations on Sunday. The unofficial result revealed that PPP candidate was successful by getting 1,779 votes while his opponent secured 1,527 votes.

Ghulam Muhammad, the APML candidate who remained MPA for past eight months, had voted in favour of PTI in the election for the chief minister.
