Kidnappers handed for 10-day interrogation

The court of a judicial magistrate handed over nine kidnappers, including three serving policemen, to the custody of Khazana police for 10 days. The accused were arrested on Friday during a raid in Char Pareza.


The kidnappers were produced before the court of judicial magistrate Ahmad Ihsan Qureshi, and were charged under sections 324 and 365-A of the Pakistan Penal Code 1860. The accused, Shehryar of Ahmed Khel, Abdul Manan of Mardan and Shah Faisal of Charsadda, were identified as members of the Elite Force. The other accused were identified as Farhad of Regi Lalma, Ismail of Bakhshi Pul, Ihsanullah of Landikotal, Sadarat of Utmanzai, and Abdul Qahar and Khan Taj of Mohib Banda.

Addressing a news conference at Khazana police station on Friday, SSP Operations Najeebur Rehman had said Khazana police arrested the three constables with a police jeep after an encounter in Landi Sarak.

“Two kidnapped persons were recovered, including Ikhtiar Shah, a resident of Board Tajabad and Feroz, a resident of Surizai, who had been kidnapped for Rs20 million ransom each,” said Rehman. The SSP added that it was an important breakthrough for the police and FIRs had been registered against all nine of them.
