Mini budget: Rs62.6m issued for buying 35 new cars

Punjab govt issues Rs62.65m to purchase 35 new 1300cc cars for ministers, advisers, senior officials from mini budget.

LAHORE: Punjab government has issued Rs62.65 million to purchase 35 new 1300cc cars for ministers, advisers and senior officials from a mini budget. According to documents available with Daily Express, the provincial government has issued the money for the 2014 model Toyota Corolla cars, after the approval of the Punjab governor. The break-up of the spending includes purchasing price of the cars (Rs60.151million), taxes (Rs1.383million) and transportation expenditure (Rs0.752 million). The current year’s budget did not have provision for the purchase, which has been made through a mini budget.
