Mysterious explosion: Man killed as ‘bike bomb’ explodes

HANGU: A man was killed when a bomb reportedly strapped on his motorcycle exploded in Thal on Thursday. A police official said at around 3pm a man identified as Thor Laram (black scorpion) was on his way to Speen Thal from Thal when a bomb attached to his vehicle went off, killing him on the spot. Officials of the bomb disposal unit said a high-intensity bomb was being transported on the bike but it could not be ascertained whether the man had strapped the explosives to himself for carrying out an attack or was taking them somewhere with or without his own knowledge. Another police official revealed that Thor Laram was associated with TTP’s Hangu chapter and had been picked up by intelligence agencies and was later assumed to be providing information on banned outfits to the authorities.
