Infrastructure collaboration: EPZA negotiates 500 acre-zone
FIEDMC has already begun work on its 4,415-acre industrial park.
FAISALABAD:
A memorandum of understanding for a 500-acre free export processing zone in M3 Industrial City was signed on Wednesday by EPZA chairperson Rabiya Javeri Agha and Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) chairman Khawaja Asim Khurshed. “It is an opportunity for exporters in the Punjab to avail EPZ facilities and develop their market potential,” said Agha in a statement. Earlier, an MoU was signed on February 21, 2013 between the two organisations. FIEDMC has already begun work on its 4,415-acre industrial park. FIEDMC CEO Aamir Saleemi said development work includes provision of electricity, gas, telecommunication, fibre optics, portable water and sewerage lines. He said FIEDMC also planned to develop power plants, grid stations, weigh bridges, scanners, customs clearing areas, cargo terminals, dry ports, and security stations.
