Regional trade: ‘Economic ties a driver for growth’

ICCI President said a high-profile commonwealth conference will be held by the end of this year.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Shaban Khalid said that regional economic cooperation is now the main driver of growth for the country. Talking to media, he said that with a focus on regional trade and investment, a high-profile commonwealth conference will be held by the end of this year. This forum will open new avenues for relationships in trade, industrial development between countries, he said. He said that Pakistan is likely to present a bundle of projects before its 10-15 nation delegation fraternity at the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) starting by the end of this year. He also said that the studies on the National Economic Corridor project, including motorway and rail links were under way.
