Infrastructure development: Chinese eager to invest in Punjab

Chief minister says due to solid policies, relations between Pakistan and China had turned into useful economic ties.

LAHORE: A delegation from a Chinese construction company, Xinjiang Beixin Roads and Bridge Group, expressed interest in investing in infrastructure projects in the Punjab at a meeting with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The chief minister said that due to the solid policies of the government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, friendly relations between Pakistan and China had turned into useful economic ties. He said the confidence of foreign investors had been restored and several Chinese companies were working in energy, transport, infrastructure and other sectors in Pakistan. He said underpasses and overhead bridges were being constructed in big cities to provide modern infrastructure to citizens. Shi Dexiang, vice president of the Chinese group,  said his group was ready to cooperate with the government for the development of Pakistan. He said Sharif’s style of work was unique and impressive.
